i've got a big book full of prints by the japanese painter and printmaker hiroshige. they amaze me. every single one of them. i could look at them for hours. my attempt was never going to be a hiroshige but i enjoyed it all the same.

dream

i had a beautiful dream last night. it stayed with me all day and made me feel warm and happy. i've never had a dream quite like it.

if we had more information we'd be able to better judge the consequences of our actions. but if we knew what the out come would be would we ever make that first step? would we ever walk along the path if we knew exactly what was waiting for us when we reached our destination?

monday, monday

monday's suck! i needed something to grab me today. something slightly pointless to sink my teeth in to. you know what i like? i like the way a deranged darkness can easily weave its way through a variety of cutesy. an uneasy blend of ultra cute with a subtle touch of darkness and sometimes a pinch of kink!

it's been a little while since i did anything cute. i haven't had a cute fix for a little while. it's all better now... meet peg and fluff! they're pretty cute.

vroooommmm

i've had a very exciting but very expensive week! i bought a car. that's about the most exciting thing that's happened to me... ever! i had a tense saturday of decisions and against my initial ideas i took a gamble, luckily for me it paid off. the mechanic said my car is a 'smasher' (that's a good smasher not a bad smasher). a few little things to get fixed and i'll be zooming about in no time. it's still a shock and all happened in a blur. i've spent 10 years getting round to organising driving lessons and within 10 weeks i own my very first car! making up for lost time i guess. i do still need my license of course but in the meantime i have a little 'smasher' with L plates to practice in.

sometimes something gets under your skin. it lodges itself in your mind. no matter how hard you try to ignore it it just keeps popping back in. today i've decided that perhaps, if you've got something you really can't get out of your head, it's just meant to be there.

i got about a bit this weekend and took some pictures. i played around with a few like i usually do and the results are now blogged. one of them is of a building in a small town called whitehaven on the cumbrian coast and the other is of some lights... err in a pub! that's nice isn't it? isn't it?

in a list of america's greatest contributions to the world the car bumper sticker would have to have it's place. it might even be at the top. not happy just to have an opinion they seem to believe it should be slapped on the back of your car and held there for the world to see with self adhesive! as my mind is turning to cars and driving more and more lately it'd just be rude not to come up with a few ideas for my own bumper sticker. wouldn't it?

today is a good day

today is a good day. infact it's a very good day. a very, very good day. for one it's friday and i love fridays. for two i have a cup of tea in my hand... it's a little on the sweet side but it's tea all the same. i'm also going to the o2 wireless festival tomorrow so i get to enjoy a day of good music. a whole day of it.
